John Devereux, Rick O’Shea and Huw Llewellyn Davies joined forces with PGA pro Andrew Sherbourne to take the winners’ cup, beating a field of 35 other teams, including one comprising Scrum V colleagues Jonathan Davies, Stuart Davies and Brynmor Williams.

Accepting the winners’ cup, Rick O’Shea joked that he will not let his  colleagues, who placed 9th in the tournament, forget about this victory for some time and suggested the cup may make a couple of discreet appearances when Scrum V returns for the new rugby season.

The tournament, sponsored by Cowlin, is now in its 19th year and raised almost £10,000 for Gwalia Housing Trust, which aims to improve the quality of life for people throughout Wales by supporting housing and tenant-related charitable causes. As well as funding individuals and community groups, the Trust is involved in large-scale projects such as Habren, which is pioneering dementia-specific care and accommodation in Wales.
