Popping the cork for charity!
Gwalia Housing Trust popped the champagne corks to raise money for charity in their first Champagne Reception at the Mansion House, Swansea.
The Mayor of Swansea raised a glass to support the Trust’s various charitable causes, which include improving the quality of life for many people within the Swansea community such as the elderly, the homeless and people with learning difficulties. Local businesses in Swansea showed their support by donating items to the charity auction. On the night bidders won a Lynn Walters wall sculpture created especially for the Trust and an Ospreys signed rugby ball as well as other items which were up for auction.
Entertainment during the evening was provided by local Harpist, Delyth Jenkins and Greg Owens caused a stir with his caricatures of guests.
Tracey Healey, Director of Gwalia Housing Trust said “The Champagne Reception was a successful night and the opportunity to hold the event at the Lord Mayor’s Mansion House was fantastic. The money raised will continue to improve the lifestyle and wellbeing of individuals within the local community who need help the most.” (1).jpg)
