About Gwalia Housing Trust
The Gwalia Housing Trust is registered with the charity Commissioners (700822) and the Welsh Assembly Government (J114). It was founded in 1988 and raises money to provide opportunities for enhancing the quality of life in any areas where Grŵp Gwalia Cyf tenants and service users live.
Mission Statement
The Trust fundraises and uses its resources to support housing and tenant related charitable causes particularly in relation to the elderly, people with learning difficulties and the homeless.
About the Gwalia Housing Trust
The Trust helps individuals and community groups with needs associated with housing as well as the elderly and those with a wide variety of disabilities. Funding activities are concentrated in areas where Grŵp Gwalia Cyf owns properties and where there are high levels of deprivation, unemployment and financial hardship. Grŵp Gwalia Cyf has properties across south Wales, ranging from Newport in the east to Haverfordwest in west Wales and Newtown and Machynlleth in mid Wales and focuses on Carmarthenshire Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

Events held by the Trust
Pro-Am Golf Tournament
The Gwalia Housing Trust annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament is held at Langland Bay Golf Course every July. Currently in its twentieth year, the tournament has become one of the biggest events on the West Region Professional Golf Association's calendar.
St Davids Day Dinner
The Trust also held an inaugural St David's day dinner on 1st March 2007, an event which it now aims to repeat as an annual event. The first dinner was a great sucess and now in its third year it continues to grow. In 2009, the dinner was held at the Village Hotel in Swansea's upcoming SA1 area and the guest speaker was well loved BBC Wales presenter Roy Noble OBE.
Champagne Reception
Gwalia Housing Trust held its first Champagne Reception on Thursday 11th June 2009 at the Lord Mayors residence, the Mansion House, Swansea.

Causes the Trust supports
Each year the funds raised at the events are used to support the Housing Trust's various charitable causes and are distributed as grants to projects for elderly people, people with disabilities and organisations such as Carmarthenshire Women's Aid, Clase and Penlan family centres and Blaenmaes Amateur boxing league.
