How we help...
Funding support for Union Rangers FC
On behalf of the parents, players and committee members of Union Rangers FC, we would like to thank wholeheartedly the Gwalia Housing Trust for a very generous donation of £500. Like all voluntary organisations we struggle daily to make ends meet and this splendid donation means we can offer the children associated with this club something extra, in terms of fresh equipment to train and the use of excellent training facilities for the clubs junior teams during the winter months.
Without organisations such as the Trust, our role in the community would be even harder. Gwalia, being a socially aware and responsible organisation, are leading the way in community partnerships and were proud to be part of a winning team.

Helping individuals within the community
As well as supporting larger scale projects, the Trust also aims to help individuals with a genuine need in the community and gives regular small donations to help raise the standard of living and quality of life where such needs exist.
The Trust recently helped a council tenant whose carpet and floor were damaged by a leak, resulting in his young daughter being unable to stay over. The Council agreed to repair the floor but would not take responsibility for carpet because the tenant had bought and fitted it himself. The Trust replaced the carpet in his daughter's bedroom with a pink one which she chose.
Another grant of £500 was given to an individual who needed furniture and some other bits and pieces to make his new flat into a home. He furnished it with a wardrobe and drawers as well as being able to buy paint, cushions, a lamp, curtains, wallpaper, a mirror, a rug, a nest of tables, a Hoover, an ironing board and some new kitchen equipment.
Although just some of the smaller scale projects supported by the Trust, this help reflects Trust's aim to invest in community life in a way that sees people getting the changes they need to make their lives better.
